4. Configuring proxy settings
- Press the Windows key + the key combination Q.

- Disable the Auto detect settings option.
- Press the OK button.
Some users have confirmed that disabling the Auto detect proxies option has fixed the slow steam client for them.
Note that disabling the Auto-detection settings option may also prevent you from using automatic proxy configuration. You must leave the Auto-detection settings option enabled for your Steam Browser.
