I remember playing Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus on the original PlayStation. I liked the puzzle aspect, but it smelled too much like Sega Genesis’ Out of This World. I can’t tell you how many curses I’ve cried out about it in heaven. But it’s not the games. It’s a crazy world: Wrath of the Stranger was first released on Xbox in 2005. Yes, the original Xbox, not the Xbox 360 or One (damn Microsoft and their consol names). It’s been a long time since he got good grades, but for some reason I never played him then.
Here we are at the start of the sweet era of Nintendo Switch game systems that we’ve all learned to love and worship. Someone thought it would be a good idea to review and push some of the games that many of us may never have had the chance to play. This is great, and I urge you to support it until that fateful day when someone finally wakes up and realizes that what we really want is the Eternal Darkness: Sanity Requiem 2002. I think I’ll say that every time I repeat a match of that time.
Stranger is probably one of the coolest video game characters ever made. I liked it right away. He’s the average bounty hunter in the Oddball universe. You check it in the third or first person. It’s actually a very cool aspect of the game and probably revolutionary for the time. Your job is to bring moolah rewards to pay for a mysterious operation that will save your life. Well, we have a moral reason to put bad guys in jail or kill them.
I’m warning you now, this game goes as it was in 2005, because that’s what it was. It might be good now. You buy this game because you were a fan of the original and you want to play it again. You don’t need that test. Just go shopping and have a good time. However, if you are like me and have nothing to do with the 2005 version, then this magazine is for you. Do you have to put your hard-earned money (or Mommy and Daddy’s) in it? Actually, my answer is a mixture.
The graphics are bright and clear and move like a switch. I haven’t noticed any slow falls or terrible cracks or anything like that. Graphically Stranger is well designed, and there are many interesting things to see. Stranger Rage is aesthetically appealing, and there are some interesting characters that might make you laugh a little.
Sound is another story. Voice recordings – NO. In 2005, there were a lot of games where you could just reuse character models for reasons I wasn’t familiar with. Maybe it was because of the memories, maybe it was laziness, or maybe it was for financial reasons. But the fact is that you see a lot of characters who have almost identical voices and looks, and the voices of these characters are deliberately made to try to be funny. You’re not cute. They’re boring when you’re not twelve. Then you can be a little more forgiving.
Where this game really pushes me over the edge is in the mechanics of the game. First of all, a camera that doesn’t move in the mountains or hang on something has always been a stumbling block for me. You tend to cling to stupid things you don’t see and you feel frustrated right away. Moreover, the movement of the camera in the third person is extremely slow, which quickly becomes a problem. So you’re saying if I can see the ground, I can jump off and not get hurt? Awesome! Just let me push up (if you don’t turn the controls over) and see where the bottom is. Any minute now… and I can almost see it in 10 seconds, but no, I can’t because it doesn’t go that far. Let’s jump up and down and look at… a dead man. That’s all I’m saying. Thank you so much!
The first guy’s not much better. It may be fun, but the problem is I tried to shoot the little creatures so you could reload your weapon. You see, your ammunition consists of creatures you have to hunt to replenish your supplies. Yeah, it’s pretty cool. I played with the sticks to control Stranger, and I had trouble hitting something because it was just as sensitive. I’m really tired of this game because of her.
Like I said, if you’re an Oddworld fan: Stranger Rage, you don’t need my advice to buy it or not. However, if you’re sitting in the hot chair because you’re not sure if it’s your cup of tea, remember that the orders are very dated, the game is probably very accurately translated for modern times, and that’s how it feels. Still, I enjoyed the game as a whole. If you can overcome some of my problems, you can have fun and help strangers get some moolah.

Final thoughts: WARNINGS
It’s a crazy world: Stranger’s Wrath is a high-definition remake of the game released in 2005, and is played exactly like this one. The third-person games at that time had camera problems that were very annoying, so expect those to come into play. The story is cool and the character design is very good. If you can forgive that the controls are very wobbly, you can have a lot of fun with this game.
